We need your help to bring as many young people from the Oceania region as we can to attend World Youth Day in Sydney. We want as many young people as possible from our neighbours in Oceania to take up the invitation from Pope Benedict XVI and attend WYD08 in Sydney.  Hosted in Oceania for the first time, WYD08 may be the only opportunity for young people in our region to attend such a gathering.
The Diocese of Townsville (members of the Townsville PNG Community are pictured left) is committed to assisting our brothers & sisters in Oceania attend WYD 2008. We are talking to the Diocese of Aitape in Papua New Guinea and the Tokelau Islands to see how we can best support them in their own WYD preparation. There will be a significant financial component to this support, people wishing to make a donation can specify that it is to be used to support the pilgrims from Oceania and it will be deposited into a special local fund for the Diocese of Townsville to administer.
