Our warm winter sunshine, renowned hospitality and friendly people promises pilgrim a rich experience of cultural exchange and prayer.

Pilgrims visiting Townsville will participate in a four day itinerary that will enable you to engage with the local community and meet and pray with pilgrims from other countires. Groups from Canada , England , and Ireland are confirmed. We are anticipating up to 1000 international pilgrims for the four-day program.

Townsville Play Hosts to the World - Your family can join in the fun by being hosts to visiting Pilgrims.

Local community members are encouraged to engage in an exchange of cultural experiences and prayer by becoming a host family and billeting visiting pilgrims for the 4 day Days in the Diocese Program. Pilgrims are aged between 16 - 35 years. To find out more and register please click here.

Events to make your Spirits Soar!

Days in the Dioceses will feature events to inspire everyone. From smaller, more prayerful events in local parishes to the big celebrations in the city, they will give you the chance to expand and energise your faith in a range of ways.

Each morning of the Days in the Dioceses week will feature events in local parishes. These will focus on the Church's role in the community, giving locals and visiting pilgrims the chance to engage and share their faith with each other.

In the afternoons, there will be celebrations across the City including cultural activities, festivals, sporting and musical events.

The evenings will be given over to larger celebrations of faith and life.

Throughout the week, there will also be time for prayer and visits to Catholic Churches and communities, as well as opportunities to hear speakers from across the universal Church.

Townsville will be buzzing all week long.
